You've dreamed, pinterested, saved, researched and land scouted your way through designing your own custom built home.... but, you are struggling to know how to actually start building. Constructing your own home is no small feet. You may have even had friends and family try to talk you out of it; good intentions backed, of course. Even still, the dream remains and you're ready to put your money where you dreams are, and get building.
At Little Rock Builders, we know how intimidating it can be to start your own dream home build. We wanted to equip our potential clients with valuable information, to help them get their ducks in a row, before meeting with their chosen contractor. Whether that contractor ends up being us is irrelevant- anyone looking to build, should have the necessary tools (mentally, legally and financially), to feel confident and be well equipped to move forward. In order to help with this process, we created a unique custom build questionnaire that covers all the big building points needing to be considered before breaking ground. Below are some of the questions we encourage our potential clients to consider, before contacting us to build:
Do you currently own the land you wish to build on?
Is there any existing structures on the land?
Are there any development or building restrictions we need to know about?
What style of home would you prefer?
What is the directional orientation of your proposed home?
How many bedrooms do you require?
What is your desired square footage?
Do you need any additional rooms/storage space? (Ie: bonus room, den, office, etc)
There are many more necessary questions to ask, prior to building. Many of which are asked on our questionnaire page, and are useful for filtering your "what to do" list, irregardless of the contractor you choose. Once all the needed steps are understood and information is gathered, it's time to meet with your contractor! For those who choose to work with, Little Rock, our company owner will meet with you to go over what the building process will look like. If all looks well, and you are ready to move forward, the necessary paper work will be discussed and signed. Then comes the fun part- DESIGN! Here, you will be sent a custom build design questionnaire, Completing this form, equips our design team with the information needed, to confidently answer whatever design questions may come up in the meeting. It also allows them to bring appropriate samples, if desired. Then you'll head over to the suppliers to put in your flooring, cupboard and paint orders.
